The UMC Responds to the Earthquake in Haiti
The United Methodist Church is responding to the earthquake in Haiti on many fronts. A summary of our efforts can be found on the church's website. The UMC's RETHINK CHURCH initiative has set up a prayer wall on Facebook, where you can post your own prayers and read those of others. Please pray, with your hearts and minds, as well as your hands and feet.

 The Burned-Over District
Methodist Revival 1839The area of Central and Western New York is called the Burned-Over District. In the first half of the 19th century, the country experienced a religious revival that is called the Second Great Awakening. Western New York was covered with the remnants of the bonfires of countless camp meetings and preaching festivals. Pray for those days to come again! Come, Holy Spirit, come!
